Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup of semisweet mini-morsels

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and place parchment paper on a baking sheet.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and cream cheese until smooth (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add both sugars and combine until smooth.
  4. Add egg and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  5. Add dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  6. Fold in semisweet morsels.
  7. Use a 2 tablespoon scoop and scoop out dough balls to place on a baking pan.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, do not overbake.
  9. Allow the baked cookies to rest on the pan for two minutes and then remove to a cooling rack.
  10. Once cooled, drizzle with melted chocolate if desired, then place in an airtight container.

Notes

Cookies will appear to be undercooked when removed from the oven, because of this it will be easy to overbake - do not overbake.
